The Rotary Lobe Pump is an efficient and reliable solution designed for fluid transfer applications. It utilizes the periodic volumetric changes created by two rotors within the pump cavity and the pump body, forming multiple fixed volume transport units. Mechanical energy inputted through the pump’s main shaft is transformed into pressure energy in the transported fluid. The pump’s flow rate is determined by the working chamber’s volume and its frequency of change per unit time, theoretically independent of the discharge pressure. Driven by the transmission shaft, the pump operates with two synchronously rotating rotors (with 2 to 8 lobes), which increase the volume at the inlet to create suction (vacuum), draw in material, and then decrease the volume at the outlet to discharge the material, achieving high vacuum levels and transport pressure.
Model Specifications
Flow Range: 0.5 m³/h – 400 m³/h
Power Range: 0.25-1.1 kW – 55-200 kW
Applications
Rotary Lobe Pumps are widely used across various industries, including food and beverage, pharmaceutical, chemical, and environmental technology. They are particularly effective for handling viscous fluids, slurries, and pastes, as well as for applications requiring gentle handling to maintain the integrity of shear-sensitive fluids.
Outstanding Features
Performance Features of the Rotary Lobe Pump
Fixed Volume Transport Units: Achieves fluid transport through the periodic change in volume within the pump cavity, facilitated by the rotors and pump body.
Mechanical to Pressure Energy Conversion: Efficiently converts the mechanical energy from the pump’s shaft into pressure energy for the fluid.
Flow Rate Independence: The flow rate is primarily dependent on the volume of the working chamber and its change frequency, generally unaffected by output pressure.
High Vacuum and Pressure Output: The design of the rotors allows for significant suction power at the inlet and effective material discharge at the outlet, creating high vacuum and transport pressure.
Versatile Rotor Configurations: Rotors with 2 to 8 lobes allow for flexible handling of various materials and applications.
